How to Play
Object of the Game
The goal is simple: become the ultimate dragon master. To claim victory, you must be the first player to collect 5 Dragons or at least 100 points. Each Dragon has its own point value, and you can also embark on Quests to earn bonus points.
Playing with just two players? The stakes are even higher. You’ll need 6 Dragons or at least 120 points to win.
Setting Up
1. Take the 12 Dragon cards (the ones with the fiery orange and red backs), shuffle them, and lay them face down in the center of the playing area in a 3x4 grid (see below). This is the Dragon’s Den, where the dragons lie in wait.
2. Shuffle the remaining deck and deal 6 cards to each player.
3. Place the rest of the deck face down as the Draw Pile next to the Dragon’s Den.
Modified Play for 2 Players: To keep things balanced, remove all the coloured Number 6 cards and set them aside before you begin the game.
How to Play
The youngest player goes first (wisdom comes with age, but luck favors the young). Play then moves clockwise.
On your turn, play one of the following cards and place it face up on the discard pile (unless it’s an Amulet, which is placed on top of one of your Dragons):
- Knight
- Fire
- Treasure
- Water
- Shield
- Wizard
- Thief
- Skip
- Oracle
- Amulet (placed on top of one of your dragons)
- Number card
- Quest card
Each card has a special effect. Some will help you, while others will help themselves to your dragons. Refer to the Rule Book in your game pack for more information.
At the end of your turn, draw as many cards as you need to refill your hand to 6 cards, then let the next player take their turn.
How to Complete a Quest
To complete a Quest, collect all three cards (King, Queen, and Knight) of the same jewel type (Diamond, Emerald, or Ruby). For example, holding the Diamond King, Diamond Queen, and Diamond Knight means you’ve completed the Diamond Quest set.
Each Quest set is worth 50 points toward your total score.

Important:
- The moment you complete a Quest set, place it down immediately in front of you and draw 3 new cards from the Draw Pile.
- Once placed, Quest sets are safe—they cannot be stolen, blocked, or undone.
- You can complete multiple Quests to increase your points!
Ending the Game
The game ends when one player reaches 5 Dragons or at least 100 points
(or 6 Dragons or at least 120 points in a 2-player game.)
To count your final points, add up the value of your Dragons plus any bonus points from completed Quests. The first player to reach the goal wins the game!
